IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS!

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS!

Please make sure you keep yourself well and truly hydrated before each class.  It is important to drink a large glass of water before class, during and after each session.

Keeping yourself hydrated before the class will ensure more alertness and stamina.  You do not realise how much salts and minerals you body looses during belly dance or any exercise regime.  Drinking at least a total of 1 litre of water will stop you from getting terrible leg cramps and give you back the energy you need and will aisd muscle recovery, thus stopping you feeling tired the day after.  I had a terrible experience a couple of weeks ago, when it was a hot day.  I had been teaching in the studio all morning for nearly 3 hours. it was very hot and humid, then went off to perform at the Lammas Festival, of course all the adrenalin buzzing around and with the extreme heat and direct sunlight on you whilst performing had bad consequences later on that evening.  My Adductor muscle (inner thigh) went into such bad cramp I could not move, in fact it was so bad I could hardly talk, when this happens all the blood in my body went to the muscle and left me just about to passout, it was the weirdest feeling, and I looked just like a corpse, as white as a cloud, which scared the life out of my family.  I put this down to dehydration, with all the exercise and heat my body had lost minerals and salts that must be put back, clearly I did not drink enough!  So please make sure you hydrate before, during and especially after!
